Brexit could bring an unexpected boost to the Channel Tunnel rail freight market if lorries experience lengthy delays at ports, a report for the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) suggests.
Currently, rail and road freight to/from the EU crosses the Channel without the need for customs declarations. Trains are, however, subject to technical and security inspections at Dollands Moor in Kent and near Calais in France.
