Motorists in Portsmouth will be able to pay for on-street parking by the minute with an app.
The council is to host a two-year trial of Yellow Line Parking Ltd’s AppyParking app, which will see parking sensors installed at three metre intervals in on-street pay and display parking spaces. The sensors detect when a vehicle is parked and communicate the information to a base station receiver, which then transmits the information to the main system.
