The Welsh Government has announced £100m for a new train depot in Taff’s Well, north of Cardiff. The depot will service the future fleet of 36 Stadler ‘Citylink’ light rail trains that will operate over most of the Core Valley Lines (LTT 08 Jun). A South Wales Metro integrated control centre on the same site will employ 52 people.
