Pilot programme aims to encourage commuters to give up their cars for bikes

A new initiative to encourage more people to cycle to work has been trialled by the London Borough of Kingston and Birmingham International Airport.

The 'Cycle 50% Club' initiative is being promoted by York-based social enterprise firm Company of Cyclists and aims to persuade participants to cycle to work for at least 50% of their commuting journeys during a three-week experimental period.
