Transport for Wales is hoping to electrify more than 100 miles of railway track for light rail operation for less than £500m, LTT understands.

The Welsh Government has repeatedly stated that £734m is available for modernising the Core Valley Lines, but TfW is planning to retain £300m of this as contingency, in case unexpected cost increases occur.
