Transport for London is cutting its operating costs at a faster rate than the decline in its operating income, and on course to make a larger operating surplus than budgeted for in 2017/18.

Performance in 2017/18 up to 3 February was reported to this week’s meeting of TfL’s board.

Passenger income is £87m (2 per cent) below budget, at £3.956bn versus £4.043bn. Other operating income is £55m (8 per cent) below budget, at £616m versus £671m.
