The DfT has invited non-mayoral city regions to submit bids for a share of the £840m from the Transforming Cities Fund, first announced by the Chancellor in his Budget last autumn (LTT24 Nov 17).
The overall fund is worth £1.68bn, with half allocated last November to six mayoral combined authorities on a per capita basis:
• West Midlands – £250m
• Greater Manchester – £243m
• Liverpool – £134m
