Stansted Airport applies to raise passenger volume cap

Stansted Airport’s owners have applied for planning permission to increase the cap on passenger numbers from 35 million a year to 43 million. 

Airport owner the Manchester Airports Group (MAG) says passenger numbers have grown by nearly ten million in the last five years to 26 million passengers per annum (mppa) and it expects numbers to reach the current 35mppa cap in the early 2020s.
