Police use trucks to enforce road laws

Police forces across England are using unmarked lorry tractor units to detect dangerous driving on England’s strategic road network. 

Highways England says a two-year trial using one cab and involving 28 police forces has led to 4,176 drivers being stopped and given a verbal warning or prosecuted. Nearly two-thirds of the drivers were  using a mobile phone while driving.
