Highways England has launched a consultation on the proposed £1.6bn A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down improvement scheme, which includes a tunnel to hide the road from Stonehenge.
The eight-mile dual two-lane carriageway scheme features:
• a northern bypass of Winterbourne Stoke with a viaduct over the River Till valley
• a new junction between the A303 and the A360 to the west of and outside the World Heritage Site replacing the existing Longbarrow roundabout
