Kent County Council wants the DfT to trunk three roads in the county and fund a number of improvements to complement the proposed Lower Thames Crossing.
The DfT is currently consulting on whether parts of the road network should be trunked or detrunked (LTT05 Jan). Kent suggests the following roads for trunking:
• A229 Blue Bell Hill, connecting the M2 jctn 3 to M20 jctn 6
• A249 Detling Hill, connecting the M2 jctn 5 to M20 jctn 7
