£8m for Welsh active travel schemes

The Welsh Government has awarded £8.1m to local authorities for active travel and road safety schemes for 2018/19. The biggest individual grant is £800,000 for Cardiff to establish its new bike hire scheme, which will be operated by Nextbike (LTT23 Jun 17). Rural Gwynedd Council is awarded £1.8m for eight schemes, including £645,000 for creation of a new walking/cycle route from Pwllheli to Bryn Beryl Hospital and improvements to footways leading to the hospital....
