A £97m project to build a new motorway junction on the M20 in Ashford, Kent has an initial benefit:cost ratio of just 0.71 – meaning that for every £1 of public money spent, the benefits are just 71p.
The Government granted development consent to the M20 junction 10a project last month (LTT08 Dec 17) and construction is due to commence early this year. The junction should open in 2019.
