 
				
				
			
			More than 40 councils in England will receive advice on preparing local cycling and walking infrastructure plans (LCWIPs) under a DfT-funded initiative.
The team led by consultant WSP will advise the councils over two years. Other team members are: Phil Jones Associates, Mott MacDonald, and the University of the West of England in Bristol.
The authorities are: Bedford; Bracknell Forest; Cheshire East; Cornwall; Essex; Gloucestershire; Hampshire; Herefordshire; Isle of Wight; Kent; Lancashire, Blackburn & Darwen, and Blackpool; Leicester; Leicestershire; Liverpool City Region; North East Lincolnshire; North Tyneside; Northamptonshire; Nottingham City Council (for the D2N2 local enterprise partnership area); Peterborough; Plymouth; Poole & Bournemouth; Portsmouth; Reading; Wokingham & West Berkshire councils; Rutland; Sheffield; Slough; Somerset; Staffordshire; Stevenage Borough Council & Hertfordshire County Council; Surrey; Tees Valley Combined Authority; Warrington; West Sussex; Wiltshire; and Wokingham.
The DfT published guidance on LCWIPs last April.
