I noticed an interesting briefing about opposition to cycling on footpaths in Wales. The concept has been widely adopted in Switzerland where footpaths are made passable to all including equestrians. I am not aware of their use by equestrians but, in Britain, the overall effect is to make the paths passable to cycles and wheelchairs.
