Lancashire County Council is seeking £400m from the Government’s new £2.3bn Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) for transport improvements in Preston and Lancaster. 

The Government will award up to £250m to successful applicants to its HIF forward fund competition, which is expected to be heavily over-subscribed.
