Road fatalities rise 4% but total casualties fall

The number of road accident fatalities in Britain rose 4 per cent last year to 1,792 – the highest level since 2011 – according to figures released by the DfT.

Total reported casualties in 2016 were 181,384, about 3 per cent lower than 2015 and the lowest level on record.
