Hugh Wenban-Smith, a former head of national roads policy at the DfT, has died. From the early 1970s Wenban-Smith was an economic adviser in a range of Government departments, including trade & industry, environment and transport. He left the Department in the mid-1990s and was an active early supporter of the creation of the Transport Planning Society....
