Local authorities are urging the Government not to axe parts of the western section of the East West Rail project in a cost-cutting drive.
The project is intended to eventually create a new rail link between Oxford and Cambridge and the current focus is on the western section, from Oxford to Bletchley near Milton Keynes and on to Bedford, plus a connection to Aylesbury.
