South Gloucestershire Council has secured £4.8m from the DfT to help fund a fleet of 110 gas-powered buses.
The funding will unlock a £28m investment by FirstGroup in a fleet of biomethane powered vehicles, to be introduced on services across the West of England Councils area from 2019 (Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and Bath and North East Somerset). South Gloucestershire led the bid.
