A three-mile extension of Edinburgh’s tram line into the north of the city could cost £165m and double the system’s patronage, the city council said this week.
The plan would see the airport to city centre line extended beyond its York Place terminus to Newhaven, via Leith Walk and the Ocean Terminal shopping centre.
