DfT increases the monetised health benefits of active travel

The monetised health benefits of most walking and cycling schemes will increase using new appraisal guidance issued by the DfT.

The guidance revises advice on the ‘rate of decay’ – an assumed reduction in volumes of additional walking and cycling following an investment – and takes into account the health benefits experienced by older people.
