The preferred route for the A470 Cwmbach to Newbridge-on-Wye improvement has been announced by the Welsh Assembly Government. The 5.8km single carriageway road would run north from south of Court Farm, cross Dulas Brook and the Heart of Wales Railway and then run parallel to the existing A470 to rejoin it south of Newbridge on Wye. The scheme includes bridges over the River Ithon, Dulas Brook and the Heart of Wales Railway. Work could start in 2010 and take two years to complete.
