A Joint venture led by Abellio has won the contract to operate the West Midlands rail franchise.
West Midlands Trains Ltd is a joint venture of Abellio (70.1%), East Japan Railway Company (14.45%), and Mitsui & Co Ltd (14.45%).
The current franchise, called London Midland, is held by Govia, which was also shortlisted for the new contract.
The Abellio JVwill take over on 10 December with a contract running to March 2026.
