Severn Crossing tolls to end next year

The Government is to abolish tolls on the Severn Crossings at the end of 2018, Welsh secretary Alun Cairns has announced.

The end of the tolls will follow the transfer of the two bridges from Severn River Crossings plc to the management of Highways England.

The standard tolls, which only apply westbound, are £6.70 for a car and £20 for a lorry over 3.5 tonnes.
