Tories silent on Crossrail 2 but steadfast on HS2 and Heathrow

The Conservative manifesto for next month’s General Election makes no mention of Crossrail 2, the plan to link up rail lines in south-west and north-east London, adding to fears that the project could be shelved by a Tory victory. 

The party’s manifesto pledges to continue a programme of “strategic national investments, including High Speed 2, Northern Powerhouse Rail and the expansion of Heathrow Airport”.
