The Highway Code and driving tests should be revised to give more attention to the safety of cyclists, according to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on cycling.
The group’s report on cycling and the justice system says the Highway Code should give “clearer priority to cyclists and other vulnerable road users, particularly with regard to the issue of close overtaking and the need to give way to cyclists and pedestrians at side road crossings”.
