Cheshire East Council has submitted an outline business case for a Middlewich Eastern bypass to the DfT. The council received £1.25m from the DfT’s new Large Local Majors Fund last year to prepare the scheme business case. The project has an estimated outturn cost of £58.5m (2017 prices), which includes £33.1m for construction, £5.3m land, £5.3m design fees, £4.2m inflation, and £7.7m risk.
