Bristol Airport and North Somerset Council are to fund a study into improving transport round the south of Bristol from the west.
The airport is contributing £450,000 and North Somerset Council £200,000 to the Bristol South West Economic Link study. Funding support from Bristol City Council and Somerset County Council is also being sought.
