Wales demands more rail spending

The Welsh Government is pressing the DfT to increase the proportion of rail enhancement expenditure in Wales. 

Ken Skates, the Welsh cabinet secretary for economy and infrastructure, has told the House of Commons Welsh affairs committee that only 1% of rail enhancement expenditure for England and Wales has been spent within Network Rail’s Wales Route area since its inception in 2011.
