WMCA defends Very Light Rail plan

VERY LIGHT RAIL

The West Midlands Combined Authority this week defended a decision to support a Very Light Rail line between Coventry and the UK Central development in Solihull, despite saying demand levels in the corridor are insufficient to justify a   bus rapid transit (BRT) route.

UK Central is the name for the area that includes Birmingham Airport, the proposed new Birmingham Interchange HS2 station, and the National Exhibition Centre.
