Parking P&D upgrade in Brighton & Hove heralds arrival of new £1 coin

New Strada Evolution Pay & Display machines set to be delivered in Brighton & Hove

Brighton & Hove Council has started upgrading its parking machines as it prepares for the introduction of the new 12-sided £1 coin on 28 March.

The move will see most parking machines in the city switched to pay-by-card as part of a £1.8m investment to improve reliability and cut down on theft.
