Council leaders in the Sheffield City Region have approved a 5% cut in the levy paid to the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive in 2017/18. Further cuts of 2.5% a year are planned for 2018/19-2020/21.
The PTE’s levy in 2017/18 will fall by about £3m, from £60.5m to £57.4m.
It is then expected to fall to £56m in 2018/19, £54.6m in 2019/20, and £53.5m in 2020/21.
