Buses and taxis are to be banned from a busy shopping street in Oxford city centre on safety grounds. 

Oxfordshire’s cabinet has approved plans for an experimental traffic regulation order (TRO) to close Queen Street to buses and taxis in time for the opening of the adjacent Westgate shopping centre this autumn. The future of cycling in the street is also to be reviewed.
