Bus lanes in Coventry will be suspended under an experimental scheme that the council says should ease congestion and improve air quality. 

Coventry has 22 bus lanes totalling about 8km (five miles) in length. They operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

Council leader George Duggins pledged to suspend the lanes earlier this year.
