Londoners receive air quality alerts at stations and roadside

Air quality alerts have been issued to the travelling public by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan for the first time. The warning messages were displayed on electronic signs at bus stops, in Tube stations and at roadside on 1 December.

The previous mayor, Boris Johnson, had made air pollution alerts available through a subscription text service. The alerts are now being displayed at 2,500 bus stops and river piers, at the entrances of all 270 Tube stations and on 140 signs next to the busiest main...
