Ministers seek to solve new rail stations logjam

Transport Scotland has announced additional funding  support for new rail stations in East Lothian and the Borders, with expectations that a similar announcement will be forthcoming for a station in Aberdeenshire.

The Government has already offered a 50% contribution from the Scottish Stations Fund towards the cost of stations on the East Coast Main Line at East Linton (East Lothian) and Reston (Scottish Borders) but there remains a funding gap.
