­High speed blamed for fatal tram crash

The tram that crashed in Croydon earlier this month, killing seven people, was travelling at more than three times the speed limit, the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) has revealed. 

An interim report from the RAIB said the tram derailed and overturned on a curve as it approached Sandilands Junction in Croydon, south London, at 6.07am on 9 November.
