The DfT this week unveiled options for billions of pounds of road improvements in three corridors in England.
The shortlisted options have emerged from studies examining: a Trans-Pennine Tunnel connecting Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire; an Expressway road between Cambridge and Oxford; and upgrading the A1 between London and Peterborough. They will help inform the Government’s next five-year road investment strategy (RIS).
