Cuts to bus grants contribute to Welsh operator’s demise

Another Welsh bus operator has ceased trading, blaming a mixture of “financial problems” including the Welsh Government’s reductions in funding for bus services since 2013.

The closure of Lewis Coaches, based at Llanrhystud, Ceredigion, follows that of Ruabon-based GHA Coaches last month (LTT 22 Jul). GHA covered a large area of Wales and England. In June Pembrokeshire operator Silcox Coaches went into administration.
