Ministers are being urged to define a national statutory standard for a pothole, amid claims that a postcode lottery exists with pothole repairs.
The Road Surface Treatments Association (RSTA) says funding cuts are forcing councils to revise their pothole treatment policies. It cites a recent decision by Perth and Kinross Council to increase the depth of a pothole from 4cm to 6cm before it will be repaired.
