Learners will face more realistic driving tests

Learner drivers will have to undertake realist parking manoeuvres

Learner drivers will be tested on their parking prowess as part of changes designed to ensure the driving test better reflects everyday experience of driving. The ‘reverse around a corner’ and ‘turn in the road’ manoeuvres will be replaced by more real-life scenarios such as driving into and reversing out of a parking bay.

Besides including more realistic parking manoeuvres, the test will assess the use of driving aids such as satellite navigation.
