Garden bridge should proceed, says Khan

Cancelling the proposed Garden Bridge over the Thames in central London will cost the taxpayer more than building it, London’s new mayor Sadiq Khan has said.

Khan pledged last summer to scrap the pedestrian bridge if elected mayor, saying it didn’t represent value for money and the taxpayer contribution could be put to better use pedestrianising Oxford Street.
