DfT kills off Leeds trolleybus but grant ringfenced for city

Plans for a trolleybus in Leeds were scrapped this week when the DfT refused to approve the scheme’s Transport and Works Act Order application made by Leeds City Council and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. WYCA says the £173.5m of DfT funding earmarked for the project will, however, be ring-fenced for public transport in the city.
