Free travel headache for E Mids pensioners

Concessionary pass-holders in the East Midlands have been left with a free bus service in one direction only because two councils disagree on the service’s status. 

Nottingham City Council has decided that, as of 1 April, Trentbarton’s Red Arrow service between Nottingham and Derby will be classified as an “amenity service” because of its limited stop nature. “A local bus service generally serves all stops along the route,” says the council....
