Dorset wrestles with future of town’s vital pedestrian link

Dorset County Council is wrestling with how to maintain pedestrian access over a railway that divides a town in two, amid rail industry pressure for the existing foot crossing to be closed. The council is also struggling to afford the ongoing costs of unusual safety features that exist at the crossing.
