W Sussex chops transport spend

West Sussex County Council is seeking to save £4.7m from its highways and transport budget over the next two years. 

The majority of the savings – £3.4m – will be made in 2016/17, with a further £1.3m in 2017/18.

Proposed savings include: £925,000 (in 2016/17) from a review of the transport service, including supported bus services, and replanning and reprocuring special educational need transport; £800,000 (in 2017/18) from changes to highways...
