The National Theatre (NT) is seeking a contractor to run its car park on London’s South Bank. The 290-space car park is situated in the basement underneath the NT, and is an important income and customer service resource.
The car park is currently staffed during opening hours (6:30am to 1am) and payment is made using pay-on-foot machines. There is a tiered charge offering discounts to NT visitors and Blue Badge holders, with a general flat rate charge in the evenings when demand is highest.
The theatre says it is willing to consider alternative payment system models that would result in enhanced margins, as long as the interests of its customers are well served.
The deadline for expressions of interest bids is 29 January. A short list will be drawn up on the basis of submissions and a formal 'Invitation to Tender' issued in early February.
The new contractor is expected to be named by mid-March. The contract will run for a period of five years from 4 July.
Expressions of interest should be sent to: John Langley, National Theatre, South Bank, London SE1 9PX
Or email John Langley via: jlangley@nationaltheatre.org.uk
Deadline: 29 January
