Planning rules focus new housing at stations

Thousands more homes could be built close to railway stations in England under planning reforms proposed by the Department for Communities and Local Government. 

The DCLG is consulting on changing national planning policy so that local planning authorities will be required, wherever feasible, to provide for higher density development around “commuter hubs” in both plan-making and  when taking planning decisions.
