New parking restrictions have been introduced at Durdham Downs and Sneyd Park in Bristol. The Downs consists of 400 acres of protected parkland on the edge of the city that has been increasingly been used by commuters for parking, as more controlled parking zones have been introduced throughout the city.
Two years ago, the Clifton Downs Committee expressed fears that new resident parking zones being introduced would turn the Downs into a “huge commuter car park”.
